Managing a farm across multiple seasons just got easier with Heirloom’s Season Duplication feature.
Instead of recreating your plantings and crop plans from scratch each year, you can now quickly copy your existing Game Plan to a new season while keeping your data organized and accurate.
This feature not only saves you valuable time but also ensures consistency by carrying over successful planting plans and workflows without errors. Once duplicated, you have the flexibility to customize your new season—edit plantings, adjust tasks, or reassign locations to suit your evolving farm goals. Planning for the year ahead has never been this seamless!
The Season Duplication feature allows you to:
- Copy Plantings: Automatically duplicate all your crop plantings from one year to another.
- Include Location Assignments (optional): Maintain specific bed or field assignments for your plantings when duplicating.
- Handle Overlapping Plantings (optional): Include plantings that extend into multiple years, ensuring nothing is missed in your plan.
How to Duplicate Your Season
Here’s how you can use the Season Duplication tool in just a few clicks:
- Navigate to the Game Plan:
- Open your Game Plan in Heirloom. This is where all your seasonal crop data is managed.
- Open the Duplicate Season Tool:
- Click the option to duplicate your season. A pop-up window will appear, showing the details for the duplication process.
- Select Your Years:
- In the “Copy From” dropdown, choose the season you want to duplicate (e.g., 2024).
- In the “Copy To” dropdown, select the new target year (e.g., 2025).
- Adjust Settings (Optional):
- Include Location Assignments: Toggle this setting on if you want to carry over your plantings’ specific locations, like beds or tunnels.
- Include Overlapping Plantings: If your plan includes plantings that span multiple years, turn this option on to ensure they are duplicated.
- Review and Duplicate:
- Heirloom will display a summary of the plantings and assignments to be duplicated.
- Click Duplicate to confirm the process.
Tips for Using This Feature
- Review Your Data: After duplication, double-check your plantings and tasks to account for any crop changes or adjustments for the new year.
- Adjust for Rotations: If your beds require crop rotation, update your location assignments to maintain soil health.
- Overlapping Plantings: Be mindful of any crops that might span two seasons, such as overwintered crops or long-growing perennials.
