Harvests

Overview

The Harvests module in Heirloom is designed to provide small-scale farmers with a structured and efficient approach to managing harvests throughout the season. It integrates seamlessly into the overall workflow, ensuring that harvest activities are well-organized, timely, and aligned with the specific needs of your sales channels.

Core Functionalities

• Sales Channels: In the Sales Channels tab, users can define and manage different outlets such as farmers’ markets, restaurants, or other customers. Each channel can be customized with specific harvest days and operational timelines, allowing for precise coordination of harvests according to the demands of each channel.
• Weekly Harvests:
  • On the right panel, this is where you plan and assign weekly harvests for each sales channel. It provides a projection of crop availability based on planting data and anticipated yields. This tab also allows you to allocate the necessary quantities to each sales channel for specific days of the week, ensuring that your harvests meet your commitments.
  • The left panel displays real-time projections of crop availability. This is calculated based on the current state of plantings and expected harvest windows. The availability projections allow for more informed decisions when scheduling harvests, helping to avoid over- or under-harvesting.
• Season Harvests: The Season Harvests tab offers a comprehensive view of your harvests across the entire season. Here, you can track the progress of your harvests by comparing projected quantities against actual yields. The tab also provides various filtering options to help you focus on specific crops, cultivars, time periods, or discrepancies between projected and actual harvests.

Automated Task Management

One of the key integrations within the Harvests module is its link to the Tasks module. For every planned harvest, tasks are automatically generated with detailed information including client, quantity, and associated plantings. These tasks are updated dynamically as changes are made within the Harvests module, helping to maintain accuracy and efficiency in harvest operations.
