The Season Harvests tab allows you to compare projected harvest quantities with actual yields, providing valuable insights into your farm’s performance. By utilizing this tab, you can make informed decisions for future planting and harvesting, ensuring that your operations are as efficient and productive as possible.
Tracking Harvest Data at Different Levels
The Season Harvests table offers a comprehensive view of your harvest data, organized across three levels: crop, cultivar, and planting. Each level provides different degrees of detail, allowing you to track your harvests in a way that suits your needs.
- At the Crop Level, you can see an overall summary of each crop. This level aggregates data from all the cultivars and plantings within each crop, giving you a high-level view of your farm’s performance.
- The Cultivar Level breaks down this information further, showing the performance of specific cultivars within each crop.
- Finally, the Planting Level offers the most detailed view. Here, you can track the performance of individual plantings. This is the only level where you can enter historical harvest values. The crop and cultivar levels simply sum up the values from the plantings, providing an aggregated view without the ability to input data directly.
Comparing Projected vs. Actual Harvests
The projections are generated by Heirloom using a mix of data from various sources, including the Game Plan, Data Charts, harvest windows, theoretical yields and the area of that specific planting. These projections provide an estimate of the expected yield for a specific planting over a particular week, serving as a guideline for what you might anticipate harvesting.
In the table, each row represents a crop, cultivar, or planting, depending on the level of detail you’ve selected. Columns are divided by weeks, showing both the projected harvests and the actual harvested amounts for each time period. For example, if Heirloom projects a yield of 30 kilograms of beets in a particular week, but you only harvest 22 kilograms, the table will display this difference. The percentage difference between these two values is also shown, providing a quick visual indication of how closely your actual harvests align with the projections.
This data allows you to quickly identify any discrepancies between what was theoretically expected and what was actually harvested. By analyzing these differences, you can refine your planning strategies, optimize your crop management practices, and update your Data Charts to reflect your actual crop’s performance.
Navigating the Season Harvests
Each column in the table corresponds to a specific week during the season. You can sort the data by clicking on the column headers, organizing the information by crop name, unit, projected yield, actual yield, or percentage difference. The “Total” column on the far right aggregates the data for the entire season, giving you a cumulative view of your harvest performance.
The tab also includes several filtering options. You can filter the data by crop type, such as vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs, or cover crops, helping you focus on specific categories of crops. Additionally, the search function at the top of the tab allows you to quickly find specific crops, cultivars, or plantings by typing in the name.
Customizing Your View
The Season Harvests interface provides several visual options to customize how you view the data in the table. These options include:
- Show/Hide Harvested Values: This toggle allows you to display or hide the actual harvested column.
- Show/Hide Projection/Harvest Differences: This toggle allows you to hide or display the difference % column.
- Show Differences with Colors: Enabling this option highlights the differences between projected and actual yields with color-coded indicators.
