Understanding Weekly Harvests

The Weekly Harvests module ensures you can keep track of crop availability and meet your commitments to different sales channels, such as farmers’ markets and restaurants. Let’s walk through how to make the most of this feature.

Understanding the Interface

Left Panel: Crop Availability

The left panel provides a detailed view of your crops’ availability for the selected week. This panel shows each cultivar and its associated plantings.

  • Progress Bar: Below the name of each planting, there is a progress bar that indicates the percentage of the harvest completed for the year. This visual cue helps you quickly assess how much of your planned harvest is already fulfilled.
  • Availability Column: This column presents the theoretical availability of each crop for the selected week. These projections are based on data from the Data Charts, which consider factors like planting dates and expected harvest windows. While this information might not be perfectly precise, it serves as a valuable guide to understanding what you can potentially harvest each week.

At the top of this panel, you have several filtering options:

  • Search Box: Quickly find specific crops by typing their names.
  • Week Selector: Choose the week you’re planning for, with a date picker to navigate through different weeks.
  • Filters: You can filter out plantings that have no availability for the selected week or sort by crop type, such as vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs, or cover crops.

Right Panel: Harvest Assignment

The right panel is where you allocate your crops to different sales channels for the week. You can view and manage your harvests in two modes:

  • Per Harvest Days: Organize your harvests by specific days of the week.
  • Per Customer Channel: Manage harvests by the sales channels, such as different markets or restaurants.
